BIO
SECRET AGENT (Mexico City) is a 'Psy Spy Instro Surf' trio that has toured across Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States while capturing audiences with their border-breaking sound. Fusing classic '60s sounds from the Golden Era of instrumental Surf Post-Punk Rock, and distant twang of Rockabilly, Spy films & Spaghetti Westerns.
RICK DELIZ (Guitar) 🇺🇸 🇵🇷, RACK AGUIRRE (Bass) 🇲🇽 and ALIS EMERSON (Drums) 🇲🇽 swapped their pistols & sniper rifles for Gretsch guitars, Tama drums & Fender amps while joining forces with special recording guest JUAN COVARRUBIAS (a.k.a. J GUERO) (Synths). Classified information tells us that this female rhythm section are also allied with the bands Abominables and Ruido Rosa.
Pedro Pistola Piñata Party (EP 2017) was produced by Scott Hackwith (Ramones / Circle Jerks) and the 'Peter Gunn Theme' (a Henry Mancini classic) animated music video was created by Tío Alex (Los Esquizitos).
Mata Hari (EP 2019) showcases original vocal collaborations in Spanish with Vince (Rebel Cats), Marcela Viejo (Quiero Club) & Carlos Ann (Bushido).
In 2020 DOUBLE CROWN RECORDS (USA) re-released both their EPs on the CD titled A Pair Of Aces, which was mastered by the multi Grammy-toting Gavin Lurssen (Billy Idol / Reverend Horton Heat).
As masters of disguise, their chameleon rhythms have shifted from down & dirty shimmery to crux-riding licks on their album Moros En La Costa, which became declassified in 2022. The album was produced by 'Crunchy' López (Lost Acapulco), released on the band-owned label TRIPLE AGENT RECORDS and includes the single 'Loaded Gun' (feat. Daniel Gutierrez) a collaboration with the singer from La Gusana Ciega.
SECRET AGENT has also toured with support musicians Juan Carlos Del Valle (Jukebox), Dina Micelli (Vivanativa), Maciej Majewski (Fobia), Moty (Vondré), Jimmy Paxson (Stevie Nicks), Kitzia Medina (Dimitri Y Las Brujas), Robert López (El Vez), Priscilla Escobar (Fire At Play) and Laura Ishida (The Howling Faith).
SECRET AGENT recently recorded the EP 'Loose Lips Sink Ships' featuring special guests El Vez, Priscilla Escobar and Dafne Carballo (Descartes A Kant) out in Summer 2023 with lead vocals sung by Rick Deliz. Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered in Los Angeles, CA. by Dave Klein (Agent Orange / The Ghastly Ones).
